Conway - New Hampshire USA

Henry on the second pitch of Repentance

the oringinal idea was to spend a nice holiday in Canada, between the lakes and the ice of Quebeck. In the end we took to the plains of New Hampshire and Vermont to participate in the Conway Ice Festival and to shift Lake Willoughby. Just arrived in Conway we immediately had the impression that it was a nice town but there are few opportunities to climb the falls worth the trip. At the end we succeeded in two days to climb the two waterfalls symbol of the area: Repentance and Remission. This year, objectively there is a lot of ice climbing on this site, but motivated by the trip and the new place, we are engaging on these two great lines.
Last year, when Steve House made a visit to Conway, the conditions were exceptional and made the first ascent in total only two waterfalls ... we saw the video shown at the festival and I assure you that it was thrilling: as strong as crazy :-))

Environment ICE festival was very familiar, the local community of climbers is very open and we were like ACULTY amci immediately. On Saturday Richard and I attended a garetto of dry indoor and ... we have taken so many blows really strong here ... there are people. But unlike what often happens to us, the competition is minimal and the desire to increase their knowledge comparison is great.
Finally yesterday we found the wealth of Richard, who was lost in airports across the world, and this morning we started the ascent of indirection Canada. At the moment we are Lyndelton, a small village near Lake Willoughby, site of ice falls very famous in the States. We will stay here at least 3-4 gionri. Today we have explored the fields and climbed a cascade of two pitches of average difficulty, but we addocchiato linne of great interest and we will try to follow in the coming days.
Now it is almost midnight and it's time to rest, these days the internet has been really solved the problem but problrmo tomorrow aggionerò the site with photos and the descriptions of the climbs.
tomorrow
